The Medieval City of Chauvigny
(Less than 20 minutes from Saint-Savin) Chauvigny is located between the cottage and Poitiers. There are visits all year round to discover the various buildings built in the upper town from the 11th to the 15th centuries. The powerful castle of the Bishops, residence of the lords of Chauvigny, the castles of Montléon, Harcourt and Gouzon, not to mention the tower of Flins. The City of Writing of Montmorillon
(20 minutes from Saint-Savin) Book village, Montmorillon is a small town full of charm, we like to walk in the old medieval district and on the banks of the Gartempe, stroll in bookstores and artists’ studios, visit the Sainte-Catherine crypt with its remarkable paintings from the 12th century.
In terms of outings, the cinema and theatre have a great programme all year round.
